Last updated: 15 October 2026

1. Agreement

By using dummyfiles.com ("Dummy Files", "the Service") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What you may do

Dummy Files generates synthetic test files in your browser for development, quality assurance, benchmarking and upload-limit testing. You may generate and download files for lawful commercial and non-commercial testing. The files contain synthetic filler only and no third-party content.

3. What you may not do

You agree not to use the Service or any generated file to:

  • Test, flood or attack systems you do not own or have written permission to test.
  • Bypass, disable or probe security controls of other people's systems, such as upload filters, file type checks, malware scanners or size limits.
  • Distribute malware or deceptive payloads disguised as legitimate files.
  • Deceive or defraud anyone, for example by presenting a dummy file as a real document, invoice, record or program.
  • Send spam, or fill mailboxes, storage or upload endpoints you do not own with dummy files.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.

4. No warranty

The Service and the generated files are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We check the files of several formats with automated tests, as described on the How it works page, but we do not promise that a file is valid, opens in a particular program or meets the requirements of a third-party system. Formats not listed as checked there may be invalid.

5. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Dummy Files and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages that result from using, or not being able to use, the Service or any downloaded file.

6. Privacy

Files are generated in your browser and never uploaded. How we use analytics and cookies is explained in the Privacy Policy.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and using the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

8. Contact
